17/3/2007 - AC Hoylake Comets 4    Higher Bebington 0

It was a mixed bag for the under 7s last weekend with the Comets entertaining Higher Bebington at Carr Farm.  From the start the Comets took control and put the Bebington goal under a lot of pressure.  In the first quarter Luke Gallagher picked up the ball from the edge of the area ran straight at goal and toe-poked a shot which the keeper did brilliantly to turn over the bar.  The Comets had another couple of chances but when the quarter time whistle went it was still 0-0.

Jack Martindale came on at the start of the second quarter and playing in a particularly predatory role picked up the ball from a long clearance and shot past the keeper to open the scoring.  It remained 1-0 up to the half time whistle.

The second half started much the same as the first half with most of the play being with the Comets.  Jack Martindale added to his opener with a brilliantly struck shot whilst under pressure from a defender. 2-0.  Luke Gallagher who had given his usual 110% and been subject to a number of crunching tackles in an effort to halt his Christiano Ronaldo like runs then made it 3-0 shortly after as Bebington had pushed up looking to get back into the game.  To finish an excellent performance allround Luke bagged his second right on the final whistle.
