Another set of players have successfully graduated from AC Hoylake's Youth team. We wish them all well.

Anyone who gets involved in coaching appreciates how good it is to see each member of the team develop – not only as players, but as people too – and every coach wants to see their team advance through the age groups.

Unfortunately, it’s rare for any team to make from the early age groups right through to Youth level – but it’s an accomplishment a core of the current AC Hoylake Youth team achieved, along with some great success along the way.

Youth side story

Eddie Pipe and Tommy Cavanagh got the ball rolling a decade ago, when they started a team at under 6s, then Damian Ryan took over the running of the team a few years ago – and the team achieved two notable successes along the way:

• League triumph – in 2016, the team won the Wallasey League Youth Division, a massive feat that is definitely one the club’s greatest triumphs.
• Player development – Five of the players from that league triumph have played right through from Under 6s – a terrific achievement for everyone involved.

Last season was the team’s final campaign, but the achievements continue, asmany of the team have successfully gained places on apprenticeships or at university.

Everyone at AC Hoylake would like to wish everyone involved in the team, whether playing, coaching, or supporting from the sidelines, the best of luck for the future – it’s a genuine pleasure to have been a part of such an amazing journey.

And a huge thanks to Damian for his efforts over the last few years.
