West Kirby United Wasps Blues vs U7 Meteors

Hoylake Meteors vs West Kirby Wasps
Meteors 7, Wasps 0
‘WASPS LOSE THEIR STING, BUZZED BY THE METEORS”
Man of the match Philip for excellent passes, a few assists that lead to goals and yes an early goal at the start
Wet rain (Peter Kay rain) and the temperature struggling to reach 4 degrees C all blown away by the shear pace of the Meteors. Time travelling, jet packs (and chocolate) moved the Meteors around the West Kirby stratosphere slicing passes, weaving in and out of the Wasp’s territory and onto victory. Lets not get carried away, the Wasp’s battled hard and pressured our team into retreat on several occasions. They were unfortunate to meet a very much “on form” Meteors telepathically linked to the coach’s instructions. Training sessions, listening and coaching has started to click into the sub consciousness of the team and it happened today unfortunately for the Wasps.
1/4 - G=Otto, D= Seb & Luke, F= Fin & Philip
Fin and Philip on a very early attack to test the Wasps defences and goalkeeping skills. No5 sent a crashing volley back into Meteors half, Seb & Luke threaded back to Philip who took on Wasp after Wasp using both feet to blast in the goal that would open a healthy account for the Meteors.
Great save from Otto. Here came the “Meteors Thunderball” (a practiced move from goalie to defender to forward) rolled out from Otto to Seb, threaded to Philip who crossed to Luke = GOAL! Wasps back with more pressure, Fin taking 3 players on in a brave attempt. Luke again scoring with devastating accuracy (GOAL!)

2/4 - G=Luke, D= Otto& Philip, F=Luca & Jake
A welcome return for Jake, instantly taking control, lightning quick, left to right making the Wasps dizzy. Luca couldn’t quite find his usual accuracy but still testing the Wasps defence and forcing them to stay deep. Both Otto & Philip driving back any attempt from Wasps attacks. Nice smooth skills again from Philip to deliver the ball to Luca for more shots on target. Another “Meteors Thunderball” from Luke in goal out to Otto to find Jake who ramped up to top speed, whirling, twirling like a pinball game into the Wasps nest-GOAL!

3/4 - G=Luca, D=Philip & Seb, F=Luke & Otto
Luke charged on wheeling out his trademark stop and spins in quick succession with excellent support from Otto to keep the Wasps away. Seb pressed forward, sensing opportunity, bang, excellent save from No1. Seb & Philip had to work back deep to get the ball to Otto, Otto battled hard stopped by the bigger No8. Once again another “Meteors Thunderball” move to get the ball up to Luke for his hattrick, nothing could stop it. Brilliant.

4/4 - G=Otto, D= Luke & Luca, F = Jake & Fin
Wasps buzzed back with No8 firing a huge stinger, put out by Otto in goal. Luke and Fin shutdown another attack and got the ball to Jake who looked sharp in possession but couldn’t quite get a shot off. Another great save from Otto, rolled out to super sub Seb with a fast run up the wing, across the goal to guide an inch perfect strike from the outside of his boot into the top right of the goal. Return fire from Wasps who played more assertively this final quarter, quickly scooped up by Otto to avoid danger. No9 gave a strong run down to he Meteors half to be stopped by the joint defence taskforce of Luke and Luca. Quick catch your breath, it’s Super Seb back again, no chance for the Wasps, an absolute meteoric high velocity, full force blast into the goal again.
Thanks to the Andy’s for their continued patience (lots of it last Wednesday) and coaching. Well done boys.
