Match Report:-
Today was our first league match of the season, we faced a Glenavon U14’s who we had never played before, we knew they would be a strong team but hoped we would have enough strength to beat them. It was a tight first quarter of an hour but we had the best opening chances with Sam R going close twice with well struck shots, one hitting the bar and another well saved. Glenavon were also unlucky not to take the lead when a free kick rattled the post.
We took the lead on twenty minutes when Caffers rose well to nod in a Nathan corner. Minutes later Harry Whate nodded in from a free kick only to be cruelly given offside. Glenavon scored a great individual goal to equalise on 28 minutes. Five minutes later they were awarded a penalty for a handball that actually hit one of our lads in the face and none of the Glenavon players appealed for it! It was well struck into the corner and we trailed 2-1 at half time.
Second half we had long periods of possession but just couldn’t get a goal back, the Glenavon keeper was outstanding dealing with everything that came into the area. Mihal did break through with ten minutes to go and struck his shot early over thee keeper head but his shot rattled the bar. It was a very start stop game with the ref showing no consistency in his awarding of petty free kicks. However he did give us a penalty for a blatant push in the back in the last few minutes and Mihal slammed it into the top corner of the net. Full time 2-2. We felt hard done to today with decisions not going our way most of the time; some days you get no luck either. In the end we settled for the point as it was just one of this days when not much goes your way. Take nothing away from the Glenavon lads who battled well for a share of the points.

Match Report:-
It was a glorious afternoon, but with a couple of players missing today we felt we may be up against it. The first 15 minutes were fairly even, but a very powerful strike and we were one behind. Minutes later it was two when no one put a challenge in. Twenty minutes gone and another powerful, unstoppable shot and we were three down. Our best chances of the first half were shots from Harry W and Harry F. Two more quick goals from Beechwood and we trailed 5-0 at half time. Not looking good.
We played like a different team in the second half, with an early effort from Harry W, bringing a great save from the Beechwood keeper. This was followed by good close chances from Steve and Harry F. Elliot worked tirelessly, putting in a great performance at the back, along with Nathan Shaw, who also shone. Barry made a good break and was very unlucky, after chipping the keeper to see his shot just bounce over the bar. On 63 minutes, Beechwood got their sixth of the game. We didn’t give up though, and pressed Beechwood hard at the back, and at times played some beautiful passing football. Elliot struck a powerful shot that just went over the bar. Beechwood broke and got their seventh and final goal of the game. We still pressed with Steve working the keeper, and Cal having a couple of very close efforts. Despite the scoreline, most of the lads put a real good effort in today. In particular Elliot, Nathan, Cal, and Sam A.

Match Report:-
In a rearranged fixture today we faced the strong outfit of Manor. It was a very tight affair with both teams battling hard to keep possession. We probably edged the first half but failed to create many clear-cut chances with the ball not quite falling for us despite some good football. Our best effort of the half went narrowly wide after some good determination from Steve to get a shot away. Our back four were superb today and Dom commanded his area brilliantly. He was forced it a couple of saves but we didn’t come under great pressure in this half. Ht 0-0.
The lads continued to work really well as a unit and challenged for every loose ball. Joe H shone in midfield winning some great tackles. We pressed hard but the Manor defence were equal to us. Manor had a good go at us as well but most of their chances were long-range effort s and Dom’s handling was excellent. We had a clear shout for a penalty after a handball but the ref missed it from his position. Mihal was unlucky in the last minute with a shot that the keeper had to stretch well to keep it out. A really cracking game of football today with very little between the sides and its not often you get a 0-0 in youth football. Very pleased with our work rate and a well earned point.

Match Report:-
Today we faced Wasps who are easily one of the best teams on the Wirral, in the Cheshire cup. We knew we were in for a very tough match with a number of the Wasps team being in the Wirral squad. We kept them at bay for the first twenty minutes with lads being equal in the middle of the field and battling for every ball. Joe Haste was excellent yet again put himself about and at the back Elliot was very brave sticking his head in when needed. We fell a goal behind on 22 minutes with the goal being marginally offside. We struggled to get forward much in the half but pressed the Wasps back four when we could, Mihal had a good shot well saved. We came under a lot of pressure and in this half and fell two behind on 30 minutes when a clearance richoted and fell nicely for Wasps to score. Joe Haste had a fine shot that the keeper took well. Half Time 0-2.
The lads were told to keep working hard as they were not out of this match. Dom made a fantastic diving save to keep us in the game early in the half. The back four were all superb today and the midfield tracked back well to help out. The front players chased everything down and Mihal had a header unfortunately cleared off the line. Sam Allen slotted home to get us right back in the match on 58 minutes and two minutes later we were level when Cal popped it over the keepers head. We pushed hard and could have gone in front. On 64 minutes Wasps took the lead and again it was slightly offside. Barry then rattled the bar with a great effort. Wasps scored again in the last few minutes to make it 4-2. The lads did themsleves proud today and fought back well and were by no means out-classed considering the tough opposition we faced.

Match Report:-
Today we faced Glenavon. Its always a tight affair and today was no exception. With Dom not available Harry Whate filled in bewtween the sticks. We missed Caffers through injury. First 15 minutes were fairly tight with both sides palying neat football but stuggling to get past the back four. It took a wonder srike from well outside the area to break the dead lock . So we trailed by a goal and seemed to lose are rhythmn We kept it tight though with Nathan dealing with most things at the back. Five minutes before half time we came back to life , Steve darted through the middle and unleashed a fine shot that was brilliantly tipped over the bar. Nathan then made a similar run and had his shot saved. Glenavon quickly broke and Harry was forced into a great reaction save with his feet. Mihal was unlucky to have a shot well saved. Quite an end to the half. Ht 0-1.
We lost Harry F due to injury at half time which was another blow for us. Jo H slotted in well at the back though. We moved the ball well and Cal was superb in the middle linking well with Mihal, Barry and Sam R. We just struggled to get past the strong Glenavon defense. Cal had our best effort with a shot that trickled wide. Steve was also unlucky heading wide from a corner. Glenavon scored a second killer goal with ten minutes to go after shot trickled over the line after hitting the underside of the bar. This sealed the game for them. We had a couple more corners but couldn’t quite find the net.Altough the scoreline dosent suggest it we played some great football at times today. The workrate and effort form the lads was superb.

Goals:- Mihal Abraham
Hoylake Managers Motm:- Steve Ainslie
Oppositions Choice Motm:- Mihal Abraham
Match Report:-
Today we faced Manor. We had only played them 3 weeks ago and fought out a goalless draw. We played at Leasowe Road on a very small pitch, and the grass was long which just didn’t suit our passing game. We were also without our regular keeper and had other major players missing to injury. Manor were the stronger team in this half they went close with a few chances and seemed to adjust to the pitch better than we did. Cal had our first effort on goal with a shot that drifted wide. Manor took the lead with a shot on 20 minutes. Nathan had a free kick well saved by the Manor keeper. On 25 minutes Manor scored a well headed goal from a corner and a further blow hit us when we lost Harry F due to injury. Steve had a shot well saved and Will brought another save from the keeper after he rose well to head goalwards. Half time 0-2.
In a slight formation change Barry was pushed up front and we managed to get forward a bit more. Our displays seem to be quite similar week to week with us defending well but struggling in the final third. The midfield worked hard today Steve was particulary good putting himself about and winning a lot in the air. Sam R and Will both went close with shots. We fell a third behind with 20 minutes remaining. We still pressed and kept Manor busy at the back. We let 2 more both fairly unfortunate goals in the last few minutes. From the last kickoff Mihal decided to aim goalwards and his shot sailed through the air and just dipped under the bar for an absolutely fantastic goal as he was in his own half when he struck it, silence fell across the playing field and spectators no one could believe it had happened. The final whistle then blew. We fought as hard as we could today but are struggling with injuries and players missing and conditions didn’t suit us at all.

Match Report:-
Today we faced saints in very windy conditions. We were forced to play into the wind in the first half but welcomed back two big players in Caffers and Dom who filled in between the sticks. We found ourselves a goal up an 7 minutes when Nathan sent a well floated free kick into the box and up rose Caffers to nod it home beautifully. Three minutes later it was two, Steve made a surging run his first shot was blocked but it fell back to him and he rifled it into the net 2-0. It was difficult getting forward in the wind so it was a great bonus to be in front. However ten minutes later Saints were awarded one of the most dubious penalties you will ever see ,when the ball was rocketed at Elliot his hands were low to his stomach and there was no way he could have moved it was hit so firmly, we were amazed with the decision, the penalty was well struck 2-1. This spurred them on and they hit the bar from close range, before we knew it we trailed 3-2. Half time.
We felt really hard done to as the penalty changed the course of the game but we knew that with the wind we could get back into it. It didn’t take long , a great throw in from Elliot and Barry ran on to it and finished well with his first touch , 3-3. We got forward more in this half but Saints also had chances and Dom and the back 4 were yet again well on there toes, Dom tipping over on one occasion. We both hit the woodwork as well. Oor winner came from another set piece with Harry F sending a nice free kick and Harry Whate with his back to goal got to it well and scored with an overhead kick, 4-3. It was a tight last ten minutes and Saints had a glorious opportunity to level but missed the target from close range. There were one or two naughty challenges and the ref struggled at times. The Saints keeper made a great save from a Harry Whate header after Will had sent a great ball over. A superb overdue win today and nice to get a good few goals.

Match Report:-
Today we faced Upton U14’s for the first time; we were warned that although one of the younger teams that they were very capable. We soon knew this as they had the best of the early play, trying to slot some balls through but our well-organised back four were dealing with everything thrown at them. It took us a good while to find our rhythm, the pitch was very bobberly and we struggled to make passes at times. Our first effort on goal was a crazy scramble that the keeper managed to tip over the bar; Barry also went close with a shot that was well saved. Our first goal was a great move, Harry W played a great ball through for Mihal who then crossed and Steve headed in at the near post after 25 minutes. Minutes later Steve was provider as Mihal rounded the keeper to make it two.
Half time 2-0.
In the early stages Upton yet again had a good go at us, they were a feisty team and appealed for everything. Our lads just tried to play football but it was easily a good 15 minutes into the half before we found the net again. Mihal did brilliantly to stay on his feet after being fouled to then beat two defenders and finish superbly. Our back four were kept on there toes marshalled fantastically by Harry F and as Upton pressed Dom was forced to be on top of his game as well, making some great saves and excellent use of his area. Barry then made it four with a very cool finish. Two more goals followed in the last few minutes a great drive from Harry F and Barry rounder the keeper with some lovely footwork to make it six.
It was a superb patient, well-disciplined performance today from the whole team.

Match Report:-
Today we faced Upton U15’s favourites to win the league so we knew we had a tough afternoon ahead of us. We were missing Harry at the back, which would be a big loss. For the first ten minutes we kept the ball well, pushed forward and looked the more dangerous team, the only problem was getting past the Upton back four. Upton got into the game and were seeing more possession, we found our selves having to work hard in midfield and at the back to keep them out. Dom yet again was in fine form in goal. Five minutes before half time Upton took the lead after some confusion as to whether a ball had gone out for a throw and we all stood still, so we trailed 1-0 at half time.
We raced out of the blocks again at the start of the half with the addition of Barry to the goal threat. Our best chance of the game came to Will when he cut in from the left and shot, the keeper parried it and the hardworking Cal was unlucky not to get his head on it. We then conceded three well-taken goals in a short spell. Upton were playing some really good football. Good on our lads they kept the heads and continued to fight for every ball. Barry was unlucky with a shot after some great individual play and it was he who got our goal when he did well to hold off a defender and slot home. Dom was forced into another fine save towards the end of the game diving low to his right. We were well and truly beaten today by a very good team but you couldn’t knock our lads as the work rate and commitment was superb from all of them.

Match Report:-
Today we faced Wirral Rangers U15’s on a boggy pitch that was quite small. With all 15 lads available we had a lot to choose from and Harvey our new keeper was making his debut. We had a lot of the early play and it was all in the Rangers half but they defended well to keep us out. Sam Richardson opened the scoring on ten minutes with a great shot high into the roof of the net, it was a lovely finish. Five minutes later it was two, good work from Harry Whate as he played a great ball wide for Barry who beat his man and sent a low cross in for Steve to pounce on and put the ball in the net.
Rangers tried hard to get forward and managed a well-worked goal. This spurred them on but they didn’t really threaten with Harvey quick to come and collect anything in his area. We pressed hard with numerous shots and the keeper making some saves one great tip onto the bar. Half Time 2-1.
The lads were told to start playing proper football, as it had been a frustrating first half with them trying to be a bit clever at times. It didn’t take long to increase the scoring with Caffers scoring a trademark header that nestled in the top corner from a Sam Richardson corner. Cal then got the fourth when he and provider again Sam R showed some great footwork. Mihal grabbed the fifth with Cal assisting this time. Barry then grabbed the last two. The football in this half was much better with some great thinking and movement at times. Rangers pushed on a few times but we were solid at the back. Give them credit they are a much improved side and worked hard.
A good all round team performance from us today.

Today we faced Beechwood under 14’s for the first time ,they only had ten players so we felt things may go our way.Yet again our full squad of 15 were available. Within the 1st minute Cal had forced a great save from the Beechwood keeper. On 5 minutes the ball fell loose to Elliot who hit a well placed shot 1-0. Five minutes later it was two after a Nathan corner fell to Harry F who slammed it in for our second. Our third was a lovely move all the way from the back and Cal with the final pass to Steve who finished well.On twenty minutes it was 4 when Nathan’s corner found Steve who nodded it in the net.Mihal got the fifth after a superb individual run to out pace everyone and slot it home. Half Time 5-0.
A lot of changes at half time but the flunency of play was to continue. Two minutes into the second half Mihal had another surging run and made it 6.Barry then made it 7 with yet again a lovely touch to beat the keeper. Number 8 was also from Barry. We came under very little pressure and Harvey in goal didn’t really have a proper save to make. On 57 minutes Steve sealed his hatrick. A minute later Harry Whate scored a nice goal after the ball came in from the wing he set himself up beautifully with a great first touch and then a nice finish. The final goal was a first for the hardworking Will. The ref blew up with 15 minutes remaining. Give Beechwood due they kept trying and didn’t lose their heads. Some good play from us today with some great passing and movement, certainly no greediness with us maybe trying to walk it in a bit too much at times, however great to see the lads playing as a team

Match Report:-
Today we faced Glenavon under 14’s they are a decent side and held us to a 2-2 draw earlier in the season; we were hoping to go one better today. Glenavon had the best early chance when some confusion at the back let them in and their final shot went narrowly wide. We were unlucky to have a goal ruled offside after Cal had set Mihal up. We did take the lead on ten minutes a Nathan corner came across and up rose Steve to nod it in. Glenavon had more of the play in this half but we defended well and they were restricted to shots from outside the box. Sam R and Elliot both had good efforts towards the end of the half. Half Time 1-0.
The wind was playing a part in this match as we had a lot more pf the play in this half.
We had a bit more fight in us as well and Joe Haste led it with some great determination to win the ball and not let anything get past him. Steve had a powerful shot that drifted wide and Harry Whate who was in fine form today had a great shot on the turn well saved. We struggled to find the net and felt we needed another goal to secure the points. Glenavon had some useful breaks and Harvey was forced into a brave save to keep us in front. With 15 minutes to go we found that vital goal when Joe Haste sent a nice ball though for Mihal to run onto and finish well. Cal worked hard today and was unlucky with a couple of shots that rose over the bar. Sam Allen stuck a nice shot as well, that one well saved by the keeper. Our third goal came with five minutes to go and it was a great powerful strike by Sam Richardson from outside the area that flew in brushing the underside of the bar. Harvey was forced into a brilliant double save in the last minute to keep our clean sheet. It was another solid performance today, we are looking particularly strong at the back, we did come under pressure today but just didn’t look like conceding. A great team effort yet again and that’s our fifth win in 6 games.

Oppositions Choice Motm:- Joe Haste
Match Report:-
Today we faced Delta for the first time this season it was a lovely crisp day and although there had been a heavy frost the ref was happy that the pitch was playable. It was a test for us today seeing as we had not played since the back end of November and were missing Harvey
and Cal.We took the early initiative and pressed forward from the off. We went close on a couple of occasions with long shots. It took until 15 minutes for the first goal when a free kick was awarded to us right on the edge of the Delta penalty area, Harry Farq stepped up and although the wall looked a little close he struck if beautifully over the wall and into the top corner,1-0. Two minutes later Barry controlled a long ball really well and turned goal wards jinked in and out of three defenders and slid it pat the keeper, 2-0. Then five minutes later Mihal cut in from the right and blasted a shot hard and low and the keeper couldn’t keep it out beaten at the near post, 3-0.We continued to control the play with some very neat short passing and Delta were getting frustrated. When they pushed forward our back four cleared up each time with Dom in goal not having a great deal to do. Harry Whate had a great effort brilliantly saved by the Delta keeper on the stroke of half time. Half time 3-0.
The second half was a different story with Delta having a lot of possession; we seemed to switch off for periods of time. Our back four however never really looked in any danger although Delta kept coming at us, Dom was called on a bit more coming out well to collect and yet he didn’t really have any saves to make. We felt the next goal would be crucial and Delta did hit the bar with one effort. We rode the pressure and got back into the match.
In the end a fine result, it was the three very well taken goals in eight minutes that won the game along with a great defensive display and some good battling in midfield.

Match Report:-
Today we faced saints we had beaten them 4-3 in a very close game back in October. We knew today’s game would yet again be very tight but we were in good form so hopeful of a good result. After 5 minutes Harry F sent a great ball over the top and Mihal ran onto it and his shot just looped above the bar. We had the better of the play in the first half. Joe Haste was superb at winning the ball but also threading some nice passes through and Steve worked tirelessly. Nathans corners were yet again on the money and Sam Allen was unlucky sweeping one of them over the bar. The best save of the half came from a thunderous strike from Sam Richardson that was turned round the post. Harry F was unlucky with a header from another Nathan corner. We created the better chances but couldn’t really breakdown the strong Saints defence. When saints did come at us we were very solid at the back.
Half Time 0-0.
In the second half saints had the better of the play we looked a bit tired at times. On 15 minutes Saints got through after a slip at the back and we found ourselves a goal down. We didn’t really deserve to be behind and pressed forward, but saints kept breaking as well and we came under quite a bit of pressure but we defended well. Mihal used his pace well but the saints back four played really well to keep us out. It was one of those frustrating games and we just didn’t really look like scoring. It was a very even game with very little between the teams.

Match Report:-
Today we faced Upton U14’s we had beaten them earlier in the season but they are a decent side and we had not played for 3 weeks so a patient display was required. Upton had a good start and had the best early chance with a header that went wide of the post. Our first chance was a Mihal shot that went over, Sam R also went close with a shot that went wide. Mihal scored from close range but it was very harshly disallowed for a high foot. On 25 minutes Harry W made a great run down the right wing and sent in a lovely cross for Cal Stone to nod in at the far post, 1-0 to Hoylake. The game was very tight and Upton enjoyed some good possession at times. Half Time 1-0.
In the second half Upton pressed and played some neat football but we dealt with everything fairly comfortably. Barry was unlucky with a shot that just rose over the bar. Cal chased and closed down well to nip and get our second goal, 2-0 and a bit of breathing space. We were breaking well and created some good chances with Harry W, Cal and Mihal going close. Upton didn’t give up and Harvey was called on to dive bravely at the feet of an Upton player. He was then called upon again to make a brilliant save ,the rebound then came in and hit the post then another shot flew in and Sam Allen cleared it off the line ,great keeping and defending to keep our clean sheet. In the last minutes Harvey pumped the ball up field to Sam R who sent a lovely ball for Steve to run onto a pass it into the net for our third goal. We looked a bit rusty today after a break for a few weeks but it was a good solid performance, patient and disciplined and a great win

Match Report:-
Today we faced Delta we had beaten them 3-0 at Newton park a few weeks ago in a tight affair, so we were hoping for similar result today. New signing Josh O’Neill was able to play for the team for the first time and would add to the goal threat. We started the brighter and Josh and Cal were linking up well, Josh was winning everything in the air and showed some good touches. It was Cal who opened the scoring on ten minutes after a trademark Elliot long throw and Cal ran into the space and put us one up. We were getting forward a lot with some nice creative play. Steve powered through the middle and unleashed a shot that was tipped onto the post by the Delta keeper. Delta had a good ten minute spell and played some neat football, but we were in control at the back with Harvey in goal relatively untested. On 35 minutes our debutant Josh got his first goal for the club from close range after some good interplay with Barry. Half Time 2-0.
We had a couple of good early chances in the second half, Steve grazed the bar with a powerful shot and Elliot had a pile driver of a shot very well saved. It was a tighter half with Delta seeing a bit more of the ball. We scored again on 60 minutes after the superb Elliot sent a ball forward and Cal took it round the keeper to score from a tight angle,3-0 and home and dry, or were we ? Delta got two goals back immediately both close range headers one from a corner and one form a free kick. Not an awful lot we could have done about them but it made for an interesting last quarter. Our lads kept their heads well as Delta were coming at us all guns blazing. We pressed ourselves and it was pretty much end to end stuff. In the last minute Josh put a defender under pressure and trying to clear it he put it into his own net to get our fourth goal and seal the game. It was a great team performance today; all the lads that got rotated showed a great work rate.

Match Report:-
Today we faced the current league leaders who had not dropped as point all season. There was quite a blustery wind blowing and captain Harry Farquharson filling in for the injured Harry Whate won the toss and switched ends, so the wind was with us first half. We started well and pressed forward winning a few corners in the opening ten minutes. Our best early chances were a Mihal header that was saved and a shot from Steve. It was a good game of football and when Upton broke they were quick out of the blocks, Harvey was called on to make a couple of good saves. We were unlucky not to take the lead when the very impressive Steve sent a ball over for Sam R who rattled the bar with a great shot. Not long later the ball came to Mihal who rifled a shot into the corner of the net to give us a well-deserved 1-0 lead. Half Time 1-0.
We knew we would be in for a tough half with Upton now playing with the wind. They moved the ball well but we defended well and fought for every ball. With 15 minutes gone Upton finally found a way through to equalise. Soon after this we found ourselves 2-1 down but our heads did not drop, Elliot, Joe and Steve were fantastic challenging fiercely for every loose ball. We did create some good moves forward but Upton kept us out at the back. Upton managed two more goals in the last few minutes. They are a strong side but the score line did not justify what a fantastic battling performance the whole team put in today.

Match Report:-
Today we faced Glenavon, there is very little between the teams and we were hoping for another strong performance after last week’s great effort against Upton. We started the brighter and Steve had our beast early chance with a great shot that the keeper had to dive full stretch to tip it round the post. Glenavon managed to break through on twenty minutes when we failed to throw a challenge in and a cross from close range ended up in our net. Ten minutes later we were two down. Other efforts for us were a Josh header from a Nathan corner that just rose over the bar and a Barry Shot that the keeper did well to get down low and tip it away. Half time 0-2.
The lads were down and we couldn’t quite understand how we were trailing as we played some neat football in the first half. We pressed but couldn’t get past the Glenavon centre backs. We conceded two more goals midway through the half and there was really no way back for us. We had a good spell for the last ten minutes with Sam R going close twice and also Mihal but they were all long range efforts. We were lack lustre today and it was not one of our better performances but take nothing away from Glenavon they defended well and scored the goals that mattered.

Goals:- Josh O’Neil
Nathan Shaw
Hoylake Managers Motm:- Sam Richardson
Oppositions Choice Motm:- Joe Haste
Match Report:-
Today we faced Upton U14’s we had beaten them twice earlier in the season but both were tight games. With Harvey unwell Harry Whate filled in between the sticks for us. Upton started the better but they were resorted to long shots that either went wide or were easy enough for Harry to deal with. It was a very physical game with the ref having to speak to a lot of the players to calm them down. Josh went close for us on two occasions and Nathan had a free kick well saved. After some great play from Sam R and Joe H the ball was sent through to Cal who had a shot that just drifted wide. Just before half time Sam R flicked a ball on and Josh finished from close range to put us one up. We were a bit lax clearing the ball at the other end and a loose ball was fired into the corner of the goal to make it 1-1 at half time.
The second half was even more physical with Upton claiming for every slightest decision, they were getting themselves very wound up, and Elliot reacted at one point and was shown the yellow card. Our second goal was superb, Nathan Shaw struck a beautiful corner and it bent into the top corner to put us 2-1 up. Upton pressed but couldn’t really get through our solid defence and Harry was largely untested. Mihal had a shot superbly saved and we had the momentum as the match came to a close.
It wasn’t our greatest performance today but it was the result that mattered.

Match Report:-
Today we faced Beechwood; they had beaten us heavily earlier in the season. We had a good record against them at Newton Park though. After a bright start from us we managed to fall a goal behind. Ten minutes later it was two, the fast striker was causing us problems. We found composure and pulled ourselves together and pulled a goal back from a bizarre headed own goal. We than continued to press Cal and Josh both going close and Beechwood were now on the back foot. On 19 minutes Nathan sent a corner in deep and it fell to Harry F at the far post who volleyed it sweetly into the net, 2-2 quite a game. Cal had another effort turned round the post and Josh had a header well saved. We battled well for every loose ball and were keeping it nice and tight at the back. Harvey was called into action with a great diving save just before half time. Half Time 2-2.
Beechwood had the better of this half, however it was Josh who had the best chance with good shot and the Beechwood keeper did well to tip it wide of the post. Harvey twice bravely came out having to challenge with an attacker. With seven minutes to go Beechwood got the winner yet again the fast striker Kieran found a way through to make it 3-2. It was a fairly heated last ten minutes. Final score 3-2. A very good performance from all of our lads today and we showed some great strength in coming back after falling two goals behind.

Match Report:-
Today we faced Wirral Rangers in our last league game of the season; we had beaten them a few months earlier and were confident of another good performance. It was Rangers who started the brighter in the early exchanges but we soon found our stride. Harry F scoring our opener on 10 minutes. Cal Stone soon made it 2, a lovely team goal , throw out from Harvey to Mihal wide left, who crossed to Harry W who passed to Barry who set up Cal, Goal! Five minutes later another surging run from Harry F, a one two with Cal and Harry slammed in his second. On 32 minutes Joe Haste found some room just outside the area and struck a fierce shot just inside the post, it was a lovely goal and his first this season. Harry F then sealed his hat-rick after Nathan had sent a lovely corner in the box. Ranger’s best effort was a free kick that went wide. Will was provider for Cal’s second which was a lovely dipping strike. Our seventh came after Elliot sent one of his long throws for Cal to run onto and get his hat-rick. Half time 7-0.
The football was a joy to watch and the lads used the time they had on the ball to look round and make the right pass. On 53 minutes Sam R stuck a nice shot to make it 8-0. Barry got the next on 62 minutes. Harry W sent a beautiful ball over the top for Barry to run onto and chip the keeper to make it 10-0. We even had a Sam A goal disallowed. Harvey was given a run out for the last few minutes with Harry F filling in between the sticks. Elliot took his goal well to make it 11 and in the dying minutes Mihal struck a nice shot to make it 12-0. A convincing display with some great passing football being played, hats off to Rangers who battled hard and did not give up.

A C Hoylake U 15’s 2 Glenavon U15’s 4 2
Date/Time : 22nd April 1.00 ko (Cup Semi Final)
Venue : Newton Park
Squad:- Fitzpatrick, Shaw, Farquharson, McDonnell, Haste, Ainslie, Cox, Stone, Allen, Furber, Richardson, Abraham, O’Neill, Whate
Cal Stone
Hoylake Managers Motm:- Josh O‘Neil
Oppositions Choice Motm:- Steve Ainslie
Match Report:-
Today we faced Glenavon, there is very little between the teams and we were hoping to edge today’s big semi-final clash. The overnight rain had set a fine playing surface. We raced out of the blocks keeping the ball well and Glenavon didn’t get in our half for the first ten minutes. Steve and Cal both had efforts blocked, we hit the bar and Glenavon defended desperately to keep us out. Our long throws from both sides were proving to be a massive threat. They managed a breakaway goal on 18 minutes after an error at the back. However two minutes later we were awarded a penalty after Joe Haste was brought down, up stepped Harry F who slotted it beautifully in the corner, 1-1. Glenavon took the lead again on 33 minutes with a well worked goal and a near post finish. They also rattled the bar. Half time 1-2.
In the second half we continued to close |Glenavon down and create chances ourselves. Josh headed narrowly over from a Nathan corner. Harry F went close with a couple of free kicks. We fell 3-1 down but had plenty of time to pull it back. We defended well to keep the Glenavon threat at bay. Harry F sent a free kick that Josh flicked on and Cal finished from close range, 3-2 with five minutes to go and game on again. We threw everything at them but could find that next crucial goal. Glenavon broke in the last minute and sealed the game. It was a good tight match but we didn’t play as well as we have done in previous games. Disappointing but the lads gave there all.
