Goals: Davis 6, Magee 2, Porschke 6, Walsh 8
AC Hoylake Motm: Tom Porschke

1st-Half
Today was the 1st game of the new season, with Hoylake playing Glenavon Eagles at Leasowe. We started the game very fast scoring 6 goals in the opening 10 minutes, with Walsh & Porschke linking up well in the final third. Magee added the 9th goal on the stroke of half-time with a very good strike from outside the box.
2-Half
At the start of the 2nd-half we decided to push Davis, Hayes & Magee further up the pitch, this payed diffidence with Davis scoring 5 goals in the 2nd-half. As the 2nd-half wore on we decided to lose the team’s shape & let the players inter-change into different positions of the field, this allowed Elkerton are new defender to push up into advance positions.

Played at Leasowe: Pitch 3
AC Hoylake Stars Squad: (Elkerton, Hayes, Mcniffe, Porschke, Stott, Walsh)
AC Hoylake Motm: Tom Porschke
Opp Motm: Calum Walsh
1st-Half
We Started the game very slowly today & were forced onto the back foot right from the off by Glenavon, who had us pressed in for most of the 1st-half. We managed to get a foot-hold in game towards the end of the 1st-half missing 3 guilt edge chances, before being hit by a very good counter-attacking goal by Glenavon.
2nd-half
The 2nd-half started much better for us with Walsh & Porschke getting on the ball a lot more than the 1st-half. We managed to put a lot of good crosses into the opposition’s box in the 2nd-half, unfortunately for us we couldn’t manage to get onto the end of one of them. As we were trying to push for the equalizing goal, we decided to push Elkerton into midfield, this nearly paid diffidence when Elkerton fired just over with a good shot from the edge of the box. Whilst we pressed forward looking for the equalizer, we were caught short at the back, when Glenavon scored another goal from close range to make it 2-0. In today’s game we probably deserved to score a goal, but didn’t deserve anything from the game. Well done Glenavon.

Played at Leasowe: Pitch 3
AC Hoylake Stars Squad: (Elkerton, Hayes, Mcniffe, Porschke, Walsh)

Opp Motm: Toby Elkerton
1st-Half
AC Hoylake Stars started today’s game very well letting the ball do the work against a very physical Greenleas side. Our goal came mid-way through the 1st-half, which involved a good move down the right-hand side which was started off by Hayes who brought the ball out from the back, taking on the Greenleas attacker & passing the ball down the line too Porschke who fed Walsh with a very good 1st-time pass, Walsh saw his cross deflect off a Greenleas defender 1-0.
2nd-half
We conceded an early goal at the start of the 2-half to make it 1-1. After conceding the equalizing goal we started to get a foot hold in the game with Walsh, Porschke & Hayes hitting the woodwork 3 times & squandering half a dozen other chances. Elkerton played very well today in defence utilizing his size & strength with some good tackling & powerful runs out of defence. Towards the end of the 2nd-half Greenleas scored with high looping goal 2-1. In today’s game we were on the end of some rough challenges not once did are line start bemoaning the challenges.......unlike some.
It’s been a tough start to the season with influential players being on holiday at the start of the season......This has been made easier by the player’s that we drafted in doing well, keeping us competitive against the top teams in the league!

1stHalf
Well done to Manor Coyotes today who played very well today. We decided to mix up the players positions today, Mcniffe are goalie played up front & on the right-wing, setting 2 goals for Porschke. A good driving run from midfield capped a fine solo goal from Magee just before half-time 3-0.
2nd-Half
We started the 2nd-half on much the same vein as the 1st-half, applying pressure from the off, this paid off when Hayes broke well down the right-wing beating 2 players & pulling his cross back for Porschke too fire low into the bottom corner 4-0. Walsh, Hayes & Porschke added another 3 goals to make 7-0.........Towards the end of the game Mcniffe scored a well deserved goal beating the defender on the edge of the box & scoring low to the goalkeeper’s left-hand side, to make it 8-0. Elkerton played very well today & was unlucky not to get his 1st goal of the season.

1st-Half
Today was Sam Davis first game in 2 weeks, due to illness. It was good to have our defensive midfielder back. Sam started the game well tackling & driving forward through midfield setting up good chances for Hayes & Porschke. Davis made a tackle on the edge of Manor’s penalty area & setting up Magee for a first time shot from the edge of the area, which was well saved by the Manor goalie. A long clearance from Elkerton, landed at the feet of Mcniffe, who scored his 2nd goal in a week with a great lob over the goalkeeper to make it 1-0. Porschke broke well down the right-wing taking on the defender & pulling the ball back for Walsh to finish from close range 2-0.
2-Half
We started the 2nd-half unluckily when our defender Elkerton tried to play his way out of trouble & got caught by the Manor striker who scored to make it 2-1. Walsh grabbed his 2nd-goal with brilliant half-volley from 25 yards out which went over the goalie & dipped into the goal 3-1. A good passing move between Murphy, Hayes & Magee resulted in Murphy playing a good ball into space for Porschke to play a 1st-time cross in the box for Walsh to score with a well timed run getting across the defender & scoring low to the goalies right-hand side 4-1.

Played at Leasowe: Pitch 3
AC Hoylake Squad: (Davis, Elkerton, Magee, Mcniffe, Porschke, Walsh)

Opp Motm: Bill Magee
1st-Half
In today’s game we played New Brighton Saints Rovers who have 2 very good & quick strikers, who punished us twice in today’s game with 2 very good counter-attacking goals. We probably played our some of our best football of the season so far with some very crisp 1 & 2 touch passing to feet that was very affective in opening the opposition up time after time in the last 3rd of the pitch, only for the final finish to let us down. We probably had about 80% possession in the game which was very pleasing, as we have been working a lot in training on trying to retain possession of the ball.
2-Half
We decided to start the 2nd-half very positively allowing our defenders Elkerton & Magee licence to go forward at will, this nearly paid off with some great chances created for Porschke & Walsh, who narrowly failed to convert their chances from close range. As we continued to push forward in the 2nd-half we must of had about 10 corners, from one of these corners Davis made a run from the edge of the box losing his marker & glancing his header just wide of the far post. In today’s game the football was “EXCELLENT” on another day we would have scored goals & I’m sure if we keep creating good chances the goals will come.

1st-Half
Olympic are big physical team who haven’t lost a game before today all season. Having watched “Olympic” comprehensively beat our 2nd team last week; I was well of aware how good they were, with 2 or 3 players who could rifle shots in at goal from distance. Porschke started on the right-wing, with Walsh on the left-wing. We tried hard in today’s game to get the ball wide quickly to Porschke & Walsh. Who both had excellent games, causing havoc for Olympics defenders & proving wide men don’t always have to beat the defender.........A good pass or 1st-time cross can achieve the same objective. An excellent run down the right-hand side & early cross by Porschke was converted from close range by Walsh to make 1-0. Walsh returned the favour for Porschke to make it 2-0 on the stroke of half-time with a 1st-time through ball which Porschke coolly finished to make 2-0.
2nd-Half
In the 2nd-half we started the half without a striker playing the line-up (2, 4) having 4 midfielders allowed us to move our centre half Elkerton into midfield so that we could try & match Olympic physically. Davis started the 2nd-half very tenaciously winning tackle after tackle in midfield this payed diffidence when he won the ball in midfield & played a short ball to Elkerton who controlled the ball with his knee & powered forward before unleashing a rocket into the bottom corner to score his 1st-goal for the “Stars” 3-0. The always consistent Magee added a four goal to make it 4-0. With only a few minutes left Hayes moved onto the right-wing & went on a mazy run beating 3 defenders & squaring the ball for Davis to make it 5-0 from close range.

In today’s game we played Oxton ladies a new team to the league. The half started with a great 25 yard strike from Hayes to make it 1-0. Hayes followed this up by playing a clever pass to Mcniffe to make it 2-0. The avalanche continued throughout the 1st-half, with Elliott, Porschke, & Walsh all adding goals before half-time.
2-half
At the start of the 2nd-half Oxton had 2 players who had to go off due to illness & injury, leaving them with only 5 players. We decided to give them to of our players. Elkerton & Elliott produced some good work down the flanks in the 2nd-half putting in cross after cross. Well done today to Oxton ladies who played the game with a smile on their faces, & never once let their heads drop.

Well done to Shafts, who played some very good football today, with some crisp passing & movement. Sam Davis produced a very powerful performance today starting off in defence before moving into midfield; Davis covered an awful lot of ground in today’s game supplying our wingers Magee & Porschke with ball after ball for them to supply the crosses for Hayes & Walsh.
2nd-Half
In the 2nd-half we welcomed our new signing to the club “Sam Black” who started off in defence, before moving into midfield, this payed off straight away when Porschke played Black in with a clever through ball, for Black to score from the edge of the penalty area. Soon after Black scored his 1st- goal he nearly added a 2nd-goal, when he headed a cross from Porschke narrowly wide.

Today’s game pitted our 1st & 2nd Teams against each other. The game was played in very testing conditions, due to the bitterly cold weather, rain & the complete mud-bath of a pitch at the Delph, which made passing very difficult. Hayes & Mcniffe seemed to handle the testing conditions well, with some very clever lofted balls in behind the opposition’s defence, which seemed to our springboard for attack after attack.

1st-Half
Today was our 1st game back after the Christmas break. We started of very slowly, passes not finding the man, shots not hitting the target, players not tackling; as the half wore on we started to get a foot hold in the match. A quick throw from Davis too Elliott, produced a good cross for Hayes to hit the ball 1st-time, 1-0. For the rest of the 1st-half we pressed ‘Phoenix’ more & more……….The 2nd & 3rd goals quickly followed, to make the half-time score 3-0.
2-Half
The 2nd-half was a totally different to the 1st-half……We started the half a lot quicker, on the front foot from the off playing 3 strikers helped us stretch ‘FC Phoenix.’ Magee caused havoc practically all of the 2nd-half, scoring a fantastic 2nd-half hatrick. The pick of which was his 3rd-goal. Magee picked the ball up on the half-way line, went past two Phoenix players & struck the ball into the top left corner. Our centre half Elkerton moved into Midfield for the last 10 minutes of the half, this nearly paid diffidence straight away, when Elkerton made a powerful run straight through the centre of the pitch, riding tackle after tackle before narrowly shooting wide.

1st-Half
The condition of the pitch in today’s game was dreadful overgrown grass & a complete mud-bath of a centre circle, even so both teams tried to play football in what was a pretty even 1st-half with chances for both teams to open the scoring. Our best chance came from a well struck shot from ‘Davis’ inside the opposition’s penalty area, the ball hit the inside of the post before rolling across the goal-line……Only for Glenavon’s goalie to collect the ball before we could push it over the line.
2nd-Half
We started the 2nd-half, a lot quicker, pushing & pressing from the off. Walsh & Magee combined well down right to set Hayes up on more than one occasion only for the Glenavon goalie too twice save close range shots from Hayes……….As the half wore on Elliott & Elkerton pushed forward more, as we started to box Glenavon in, Mcniffe made a tackle on the edge of the opposition’s box & squared the ball to Elliott who tried a snap shot with his weak foot (Left) only for the Glenavon defence to block the shot & clear their lines……….The last 5 minutes of the game we must of put about 10 crosses into the oppositions penalty area only for their resolute defence to deal with all that we threw at them. A very competitive 0-0 draw against a well drilled team, well done to Glenavon Hawks.

1st-Half
Greenleas are probably the hardest team in the league to play, due to the fact that they have a strong midfield, making it hard, for us to win the midfield battle. Our 1st goal came from a corner which was whipped in by Walsh, A very good run & a brave header from Porschke made it 1-0. Our 2nd goal came from a clever pass from Hayes to Davis on the edge of the box; Davis hit a low shot to the goalkeeper’s right to make it 2-0.
2nd-Half
We started the 2nd-half very slow, with Greenleas putting us on the back foot right from the off. Our goalkeeper Mcniffe made some good saves, to keep our 2-0 lead intact. As the half wore on we started to keep & pass the ball a lot better with Magee, Elkerton & Elliott combining well on the edge of the opposition’s penalty area, to set up chances for Walsh & Porschke to twice hit the woodwork. A cross from the left by Porschke, was met by Hayes only for the Greenleas goalkeeper to make a good save from close range, Magee followed up the rebound to make it 3-0 from close range……..A good strike from a corner kick from Greenleas made it 3-1 just before the end.

Today’s game was played on a gloriously crisp sunny day which always helps when you are watching & involved in a game of football. We started today’s game with Mcniffe up front, who was very busy from the off, scoring our 1st-goal within 2minutes of the kick-off, when Porschke send a great, weighted through ball, straight into Mcniffe’s path to give him a one on one with New Brighton’s goalkeeper, Mcniffe coolly chipped the goalkeeper 1-0. We ended the 1st-half well with goals from Porschke, Magee & Walsh making it 6-0 at half-time.

The players all moved positions in the 2nd-half……….Elliott moved from central midfield to the left-wing, his non-stop running & the use of his left-foot creating 3 of our 2nd-half goals……….More powerful running from Hayes & Porschke, seen Elliott score two late re-bounded shots off the goalkeeper.
