AC Hoylake Galaxy U16 are raising money for Steph Hughes - the mum of one of our players - who has inherited a progressive neurological condition with symptoms similar to MS, including tremors on her right side only, extreme fatigue and weakness in her right hand which affects grip and her ability to feed herself.
Any money we raise will go to paying for Steph to see a neurologist in London, as well as equipment and fittings at home to make life a little easier.

Anyone can get involved (it’s also doubling up as some pre-season fitness training) - here’s what we’re doing along with how to join in and how to donate.
July half marathon
To raise money (and get fit for the new season) we’ll be running a half marathon across July - at our own pace and whenever we can fit in a run.
The idea is to simply run 13 miles (or 21 kilometres) in July.
This could be 26 days of running half a mile, 13 days of running a mile, or running the lot in one day (!) - whatever works best in the circumstances.
How to get involved
To get involved, download the Strava app and go to Explore > Clubs, then search for AC Hoylake Galaxy and join.
Or join directly at https://www.strava.com/clubs/699652
Then each time you go for a run, open the app on your phone, fitbit or smartwatch and it will log your time and distance. Once 13 miles has been clocked up, you can kick back and relax.
How to get sponsorship

And feel free to send a link to this article to any potential sponsors, or share on your social media pages, to explain how and why we’re raising funds.
Any amount donated will go a long way to helping. We appreciate everyone’s time and effort in getting involved.
