2018/19 will see AC Hoylake field more teams across more venues than ever before – and to make sure we can continue to keep kids of all ages playing each weekend, we’re having to finally break our 10-year price-freeze on player subs.
In short, from 2018/19 season we’ll be increasing subs from £12.75 per month (£9 per sibling) to £15.50 per month (£12.00) per sibling.
Ideally, we’d like these subs to be paid by direct debit, so there’s no need for coaches to chase for payments (not something any of us like doing), and we’d like those who can to amend their direct debits as soon as possible.
If you prefer to pay annually, the cost will be £186 per year (£144 per sibling).
At AC Hoylake we’re proud that we’ve been able to keep our subs among the lowest in Wirral. We have compared against other clubs and this seems to be on a par what most clubs charge, and still a fair bit cheaper than others. And remember, your monthly subs cover everything from kits, to pitches to referees and training facilities, there’s nothing extra to pay.
Why are things changing?
Amazingly, AC Hoylake player subs have remained static for over 10 years, but the on-going costs of hiring pitches and training facilities continue to rise, along with equipment, insurance, league registrations, tournaments and referee fees, all of which have continued to increase.
An increase in the number of players year-on-year has meant more money has come into the club, and this has allowed us to absorb some of these costs, but in recent years things have been quite tight.
And the weather hasn’t helped, either!
With the wet weather last year and the lack of football for some, the club have searched for some extra match day venues to take the pressure away from Newton Park.
We hope that with an extra three or four matchday venues at our disposal, there is more chance of getting more games played each weekend – but this means we’ll also need to buy more goals and other match day equipment for these locations.
Along with this, the club will pay for any mini soccer astro pitches hired when grass pitches are off – so no more scrambling round for change in a Saturday morning whip-round to pay for the astro.
This is a huge expense for the club but we feel it is necessary to continue to offer regular football.
Obviously, these changes will mainly benefit our younger age groups, but our older teams have had the benefit of earlier investment at Acres Road, and will continue to reap the benefits of further investment which will be ploughed in over the summer to improve facilities and the pitches.
In fact both Newton park and Acres Road have just been vertidrained at considerable cost but this will vastly improve the chances of getting games played, and regular investment on the playing surfaces is essential to get the most out of these venues not just over the next season but future seasons too.
How to pay your 2018/19 subs
In order to help our coaches the preference is that ALL subs are paid via standing order, and done so on the first of each month.
All amounts and bank details are listed below. We request that all parents amend their standing orders asap.
- HSBC sort code- 40-10-22
- Account number- 32020335
- Account name- AC Hoylake FC
Please put your CHILDS name in the reference box so we can see who has paid.
CHILDREN UNDER 7’S AND ABOVE
- Standing Order of £15.50 a month (to run for 12 months continuously)
- Three amounts of £62 paid (due Sept, Dec and March).
- One amount of £186 per year (due each September).
For each extra childen in any age group add £12.00 a month to Standing Order amount, £48 to each of the three yearly amounts or £144 to cover the annual amount in one go.
We prefer that all subs are paid by standing order, if for some reason this is not possible
then monies will need to be passed to the age group manager.
Anyone failing to attend for 4 weeks without payment will jeopardise their place in the team.
Our main priority is to make sure we have as many kids as possible playing football at weekends, so if you think you might struggle with this season’s subs, please do let your coach know as soon as possible.
