New club mentor in place to support coaches

By Chris Hughes

U16s coach completes FA Coach Mentor course as first step to improve coaching support at AC Hoylake JFC

In this last week Club Development Officer and U16s coach Chris Hughes has become the first AC Hoylake coach to complete the FA Mentor course with Cheshire FA.

The course is designed to support those who wish to develop their mentoring skills, understanding the role of the Mentor and to develop the interpersonal skills required to become an effective mentor.

Chris hopes that this new experience will help improve the support system given to coaches within the club including

• Working specifically with identified coaches
• Develop and creating workshops for in house CPD
• Support coaches to possibly taking qualifications
• Help coaches develop their skills working within the club
• Support match day behaviour

It is hoped that other coaches will also take the course in the near future.
